Corrected Spring 2010 "paper" schedule with CRNs attached

Tenure Track Position, University of North Texas

Position:
The Department of Public Administration in the College of Public Affairs and Community Service invites applications for an assistant professor position starting August 15, 2010. This is a tenure-track appointment.

Responsibilities:
Primary teaching responsibilities are in the department’s NASPAA-accredited Master of Public Administration program and its PhD program.

Qualifications:
Candidates must hold an earned doctorate in public administration or related field at the time the appointment begins. Candidates must have teaching experience appropriate to rank. Applications from candidates with research and teaching interests in nonprofit management and human resource management are particularly desired.

Setting:
The University of North Texas, the largest and most comprehensive university in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, has more than 34,000 students, one-fourth of whom are graduate students. The M.P.A. program is nationally ranked by U.S. News & World Report in the area of city management and urban policy. The department offers a B.S. in Emergency Administration and Planning, the first of its kind in the nation, and a Ph.D. in public administration and management. Correction to Ethics departure reading, Spring 2010 qualifying exam Theme 2

Dear all,

The Meier and O’Toole departure reading under the Ethics Theme 2 for the Spring 2010 qualifying examination was cited incorrectly. It has been corrected in the attached list of readings.

The reading in question is: Kenneth J. Meier and Laurence J. O’Toole, “Democracy and Political Control of the Bureaucracy,” Ch. 2 in Bureaucracy In a Democratic State: A Governance Perspective (Johns Hopkins, 2006).

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The ideal candidate would be conducting research and teaching in some of the following areas: business-government interfaces, including host-government policy; international corporate strategy and strategic management; corporate security and liability; corporate governance; varieties of capitalism; and the global governance of multinational enterprises. The candidate also needs experience or interest in international business development and outreach.
